What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We also use similar technologies such as local storage for preference and session behavior.

How We Use Cookies

We use essential cookies/technologies for authentication, session security, and core app functionality.

On the website and browser app, we may use first-party analytics and product-communication preferences with consent, to measure usage patterns and to know who wants product news. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not use advertising, ad-measurement, or data-broker technologies anywhere in Axon.

The Axon iOS and Android apps disable these optional technologies entirely and use only essential first-party cookies or storage.

Cookie Categories

Essential: required for login/session handling and security controls.

Analytics (web only): helps us understand performance and feature usage.

Product updates (web only): records whether you want product news and announcements from us. It is a communication preference, not advertising or cross-site measurement.

Examples In Axon

axon_session (essential): the signed-in session cookie, valid for up to 14 days, used to authenticate every request you make to the app.

axon_device (essential): identifies the individual browser or device on a session so you can review active devices and sign a single device out.

axon_consent_public (web only): stores your banner choice for analytics and product updates on public web pages for up to 12 months; the same choice is mirrored in local storage under axon_public_consent. The native apps do not create this choice.

Analytics (optional, web only): Google Analytics for Firebase is only loaded after you allow analytics, and it then sets its own identifiers. Signed-in web users' consent is stored on the account instead of the banner cookie, so the choice follows them across browsers.

Third-Party Technologies

Some services integrated with Axon may place or read identifiers as part of their functionality. Google reCAPTCHA runs on our public web forms (contact, support, password reset, and privacy requests) to block automated abuse; it is used for security purposes and is not used for advertising by us. For app attestation, iOS uses App Attest or DeviceCheck and Android uses Play Integrity.

Stripe may set identifiers during web checkout and billing flows, and Google Analytics for Firebase sets identifiers once web analytics consent is given. Neither is used for advertising or ad measurement by us, and both are disabled in the native apps.

Third-party technologies are governed by the provider terms and this policy where applicable. The full provider list is on our subprocessor page.

Manage Your Choices

On the website and browser app, you can manage non-essential preferences through our consent banner and, after sign-in, from the privacy preferences in account settings.

The native apps do not present these consent choices because the optional technologies are disabled there.

You may also control cookies through browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may break core functionality.

We Do Not Track You

Axon does not track users. We do not link data collected in Axon with third-party data for advertising purposes, and we do not share collected data with data brokers. Where required by law, we also honor applicable opt-out requests and recognized privacy controls.

The native apps additionally do not use the IDFA or request App Tracking Transparency permission, because no tracking takes place.
